About Claire

Claire is an experienced musician and music graduate, a soloist (mezzo soprano), choral leader and singing teacher.

She was an early member of the internationally renowned City of Sheffield Girls’ Choir, which she joined as their youngest member, aged just 10, and subsequently competed and performed with the choir worldwide in all the major singing competitions, as well as singing extensively with opera, choral and musical theatre companies since her teenage years.

In 2012, Claire founded Bel Canto ladies’ choir in Baslow – originally called the Baslow Belles – which has since flourished and now comprises both the main choir and a smaller chamber choir that sings more complex repertoire.  She is also choral director of the St. Anne’s Church Choir in Baslow and the Fishpond Community Choir in Matlock Bath.

Her passion for creating beautiful music and enthusiasm for choral training is something she hopes to share with all everyone in the choir.
