Nothing beats the sound of a choir to inspire and entertain at your party, event or wedding and we work with you to devise a programme that will bring something truly special to your event.
As one of the Peak District’s premier choirs, we perform a wide range of classical repertoire, from
Bach to Rutter, Jazz to American Songbook and popular operatic numbers such as Nella Fantasia, as
well as wonderful Christmas music for the festive season.
Whether you are looking for a full choir or a smaller ensemble, we would be delighted to explore
your ideas.
Every event is unique. Starting from our extensive repertoire list, we will work with you to design a
programme to suit the theme and mood of your event as well as the performance space available.
For weddings, funerals and other religious services we can provide advice and ideas for all the
musical elements of your service, as well as the choral content. Should you require it, we can even
offer a complete management service, organising piano/keyboard hire (if needed) and sourcing an
organist/other musicians and soloists as appropriate.
Sample Wedding Service
20 minutes of choral music prior to the service, as guests take their seats.
Choir support congregational singing during chosen hymns, with or without descants.
Bridal procession to the wonderful ‘Ave Verum Corpus’ by Geoffrey Burgon, to which the bride enters the church as the music crescendos and walks down the aisle to reach the groom as the piece reaches its final high notes.
One or two pieces during the signing of the register. These could include a romantic classical piece, a religious anthem or even a piece of jazz or American songbook that is a favourite of the bride and groom. Another option would be to include a blessing such as ‘The Lord Bless You & Keep You’ by John Rutter that was made famous at the wedding of Harry & Meghan.
